I enjoy seeking the moment, the imperfect, the transitory. I refer to my toy cameras as anti-digital, indulging the luddite tendencies in me. I like the lack of control that is offered by them. They are cameras that you surrender to, come to an understanding with. It is an intuitive approach, perhaps a Taoist photographic outlook - to do without doing. Perhaps I am seeking that perfect artistic moment when there is no thought, no determination to create a great photo, no separation between the photographer and the photograph; only a simple existence of that instant, and the pure joy of nothing more.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that the cameras are really cheap…
